There was a near freaking heat wave and the realization that I cannot wear more then the minimal amount of clothing without sweating my ass off (and leaving me quite cranky). I guess it is summer now. It’s go time.
Seriously, this week was go go go. Even my brain was on overdrive. I always forget that in summer there is so much to do and so many things I am always trying to get to but when you top it with being lethargic due to sudden onset crazy heat that the body hasn't acclimated to you got a lady that feels slightly like she is losing her shit (ME!)! But whatever, nothing I can really do about as usual and I am happy for the garden, happy for fresh air, and happy that other people are happy, just as long as they are happy away from me. HA!
What we did this week was stuff. The mr and I went for a hike, then I went with one with Barb, and one with Megan and Anthony. I spent a good amount of time getting everything in the ground in the garden (already!) and wood chipped around in the garden beds. (The garden is looking good!) The mr has been dealing with a lot apartment turn over stuff and scootering around town like a dweeb. We had dinner at my Moms. I went to the dermatologist. The littles came over for an afternoon of mayhem and unacceptable behavior (which is acceptable here). I made new couch pillows, packed up mugs, and I played with chemicals and did some test glazing because science is cool! I also brought the car to get the tires changed (thanks Justin!) and while I was there I took Alex and Sophia on a little hike to the lake where we drew pictures and made tree bugs out of pipe cleaners and sticks. ( Sophia named hers Lily Lake and hid it in a tree.) I also spent a bit of time laying on the floor in the kitchen because really, 90 stupid degrees and when it gets that hot the floor in the kitchen is the best place to be.
Today isn’t going to be a normal Sunday. The mr is going to be woking all day so I am also going to work. I am on a glaze testing kick so I am going to strap on my respirator and hide in a closet full of chemicals and do some more science stuff. And then after that hopefully all my pots are dry enough to trim. (That’s another thing with summer. My studio gets super damp and nothing freaking drys! GRRRR.) After that I will probably spend whatever extra time I have plucking away in the garden because that is what I do.
